Amy Truong (they/them) has over a decade of experience in food, wellness, and culinary operations. They are a Certified TAC Tea Sommelier® and hold a certificate specializing in Japanese tea from the Global Japanese Tea Association. Amy is the founder and tea blender behind PARU, a modern tea brand established in 2017 that bridges tradition and innovation through thoughtfully sourced teas and intentional design.
In addition to their professional work, Amy is a dedicated student of chanoyu. They currently serve as a board member of Tankokai Urasenke San Diego, where they support cultural programming and education around the practice of Japanese tea ceremony.
When they’re not curating teas or sharing stories from the field, Amy enjoys spending time with their partner and their beloved pomeranian, whose fluffy presence is a daily source of joy.
